International Collaboration to Strengthen Data Security Laws and Policies

The United States is unique internationally. We spend a considerable amount of time and energy on protecting our citizens from foreign advisories, especially when it comes to technology. Many will argue that we don’t do enough, and, in this article, we will see how U.S. data privacy protections compare to those in Europe.

Tracking and protecting user data is crucial to the technological infrastructure of a nation’s viability to compete in the global marketplace. We have the right to proper data protection, which brings us to today’s data protection laws. These laws have been existing in parts of the world for quite some time and their importance has grown. Data protection laws are here to stay and you have to comply with them if you want to do business ethically, build a relationship based on trust, and avoid penalties.

The GDPR is one of the most comprehensive data protection laws in the world and provides an overarching framework for the processing of personal data in the EU. By contrast, U.S. state laws are more targeted in their scope and contain a narrower set of obligations.
